DUCTAPE RADIO STARTING JUNE 2ND, 1999!

NEW MUSIC COMING SOON FROM THE STIFFS AND THE MELIGROVE BAND! DUCTAPE GETS A NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS! IT'S DUCTAPE@SPRINT.CA! PLUS - DUCTAPE MAG #18 OUT SOON! (?)

So what if you haven't seen a new freakin' issue since December? We've been busy with other things! That's a fitting excuse, isn't it? Well, the big news around here lately is a brand new Ductape Internet Radio show. It will air weekly on Wednesdays from 8PM-9PM and will be broadcast around the world via the Virtually Canadian server. Tune in and let us know what you think! More details about the exact web address you'll need to go to in order to tune in will be up soon. Just check back a lot or drop us a line. Hopefully Virtually Canadian will make it easy for you to figure out where to go when you go to their site at www.virtuallycanadian.com. If not, check back here often and I'll post the exact link to the Real Audio radio show site... PLEASE tune in! It'll be jam packed with interviews, music, and moronic babble. Graeme Boyce of Raw Energy calls it Ductape for complete idiots"! Isn't that reason enough? CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO LAST WEEK'S SHOW!

So what's new on the Ductape releases front? Now that the computer is back on track, we'll have a new issue for you pretty soon (I hope!). As well, the very first full length from Toronto's The Stiffs will be out through Ductape in the last week of May with a release party goin' down on May 29th at the El Mocambo in Toronto (more details to come). Our friends at Antagonist Unlimited will be helping out with this project as well! The new record, entitled Forever In A Day, will feature some of this group's most energetic, heartbreakin', caustic pop-punk love songs yet. If you liked their cassettes, this one will blow you away! As well, the debut CD from The Meligrove Band will hit the streets this fall and will be released through Ductape. The tentative title is Fables of the Green Forest. The boys assure me that the name shouldn't be misconstrued as incredibly stupid, and will prove humourous if given the chance. These four Mississauga men seamlessly blend twisted rock 'n' roll with insurgent country and maddening pop sensibility. Basically, they're better than you. Look out for these suckas. As always, have a look at the Ductape Records site for more precise details.
A new contest! Dear lord, how much time does this Mike Long character have on his hands? Apparently, quite a bit, as he's made a DOOZY of a Word Scramble for you all. We've got ONE HUNDRED scrambled punk rock/ska/hardcore/emo/whateverelseyoucanthinkof band names, and we're giving away a Ductape prize pack (consisting of most of the Ductape Records back catalogue) to the first five people who can successfully unscramble at least 91 of the 100 band names! Ready? Set? Go!

Also, take note of our new e-mail address... Send everything you got to ductape@sprint.ca, and NOT ductape@interlog.com. Get it? Good!
